History
Zed was the 2023-2024 fellow of the New England Regional Fellowship Consortium hosted by the Massachusetts Historical Society. During her fellowship, she studied the history of modern medicine at the Countway Library at Harvard Medical School, the Schlesinger Library at the Radcliffe Institute of Harvard University, Smith College Special Collections, and John Hay Library at Brown University. This medical history scholarship laid the foundation for her book Consented: Medical Rape Culture and What We Can Do About It.
Medicine
Zed is the co-author of the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) FP Essentials monograph Common Skin Conditions in Children and Adolescents. She is also a lecturer for the AAFP national conference and the AAFP Skin Problems and Diseases Course on various dermatological topics.
Zed actively engages in research and teaching. She has mentored numerous medical students in clinical medicine and research. Her research has been published in Dermatology Practical & Conceptual, the Journal of Pediatrics, the Journal of Family Practice, the American Academy of Pediatrics Newsletter, Neonatology Today, the Journal of Investigative Medicine, the Journal of Medical Case Reports, the Journal of Primary Care and Community Health, etc.
Zed is a first-generation immigrant from China. Traveling and backpacking fuel her soul. She enjoys nature photography, and is particularly drawn to sunrises and sunsets. All the nature photos on this website were taken by Zed. Of course, Moshi Moshi, her labradoodle puppy, goes wherever Zed goes.
